Request Book Delivery to Your Office

How does it work?

Using your Single Sign On (SSO), search the "Statewide Catalog". After finding an item, click "Check for Available Services" and then "UBorrow Request" under "How to Get it."  Items can be picked up at Coleman Library. You will receive an email letting you know that your book is ready for pick up.

What are the loan periods?

You are given 60 days from the time the item arrives on campus.  You will receive an email as soon as your book is received and ready for pickup.

What if the item I requested is not available?

If the item you requested is not available at any of the libraries in the state system, your request will be automatically forwarded to our Interlibrary Loan service at FAMU.  You will receive an email with a link prompting you to login to ILLiad. First time ILLiad users will be required to create an account. From there, your request will be populated in the ILLiad request form.  Then click SUBMIT.

Can I renew my loans?

You may request one 30 day renewal.  Please note, this is a request, so you will want to place your request before your item is due.  After you place your request, you will receive an email notifying you of the new due date or that your request was denied. Place your request under "My Library Account."

Where do I return my books?

Please return books to the 2nd floor desk at Coleman Library.

Who is eligible?

Currently enrolled FAMU students, faculty and staff, who are in good standing with the FAMU Libraries are eligible to place requests through UBORROW.

How much does it cost?

There are no charges for any books that are loaned through UBorrow. However, you will be fined for books that are overdue, lost, or damaged.

What happens if the books are overdue?

You will receive email notifications about your overdue UBORROW books just as you do for the books that you borrow from the FAMU Libraries.  You will also be fined by the Libraries for all overdue, lost, and damaged UBORROW loans.
