Intergovernmental Panel on Climate ChangeThe IPCC is the most-widely recognized international body involved in the climate change discussion. In 2007 the Panel published a series of major assessment reports, culminating in the fourth, "Climate Change 2007: Synthesis Report” (November 2007).
Working with its 100 - 200 affiliated researchers, the IPCC evaluates scientific reports and publishes syntheses for policy-makers. The IPCC was established by the World Meteorological Organization and the UN Environment Programme in 1988. The 2007 reports follow earlier reports in 1990, 1995 and 2001.
