    The National Domestic Violence hotline is a service for people seeking immediate help. They provide live chats and their number is 1-800-799-7233 (TTY 1-800-787-7233). While their website is more information-based than program-based, it is a valuable resource for those who don’t know where to begin in escaping an abusive situation. En Español.
     
  • Rape, Abuse, Incest National Network
    RAINN is a series of hotlines and resources looking to match specific needs. They have an online hotline, a hotline for abuse survivors involved in the military as well as some resources for Americans living abroad. The website also contains some extremely informative resources.
     
  • Domesticviolenceshelters.org
    This website is a nationwide DV shelter/hotline locator. The locator allows its users to seek shelter in 12 languages including Chinese, French, Spanish and American Sign Language.
     
  • GLBT National Help Center - 1-888-843-4564
    This is a hotline dealing primarily with LGBT domestic abuse as well as other problems, such as workplace issues and family concerns. While this is a nationwide hotline, they are well-equipped to direct you to local resources. They also have a youth hotline on their website.
     
  • Addiction Center: Addiction and Domestic Violence
    This is a referral service for addiction issues; however, due to the close linkage between addiction and domestic violence, the case managers can assist with helping victims obtain advocates for domestic violence, including resources for domestic violence shelters.

    The National Resource Center on Domestic Violence is an informational website for people looking on information on domestic violence. While not a helpline center, abuse survivors are advised to call the National Domestic Violence hotline at 1-800-799-7233 or TTY 1-800-787-3224.
     
  • National Coalition Against Domestic Violence
    The NCADV is a resource website that aims to both educate people on what domestic violence is and offer help to people trying to get out of an abusive situation. They don’t have a hotline of their own but they advise abuse survivors to call 1-800-799-7233 or TTY 1-800-787-3224.
     
  • National Center on Domestic Violence, Trauma and Mental Health
    The National Center on Domestic Violence, Trauma and Mental Health aims to help abuse survivors in the aftermath of what they’ve faced. They also have resources for abuse survivors who’ve faced substance abuse as a result of trauma.
