    FDCF has a very valuable section regarding how to prepare to leave an abusive home and what’s available to you when you leave. They also have information on Florida law regarding individual rights, rights for children, human trafficking and mental health resources. Some material is available in Spanish.

    Women’s law is a reference website for abuse survivors looking to understand their rights. This website provides some brief information on the rights of native women living on reservations. Laws and rights on the website are categorized by state. Español

  • Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence
    FCADV serves as an extremely comprehensive list of domestic violence resources and programs for abuse survivors to turn to. The website focuses on the common aspects of domestic violence as well as those that are harder to find resources and programs for, such as help for immigrants and refugees.   • Orange County Domestic Violence Task Force
     The Orange County Domestic Violence Task Force has created this web site to provide answers to some of the most frequently asked questions concerning domestic violence and have also listed local agencies that offer help.
     
  • Aids to Victims of Domestic Abuse
    AVDA is a website with information about how to make yourself safe upon leaving and in the aftermath of an abusive situation. This organization also runs its own domestic violence shelter and information regarding transitional housing can be accessed via the link. Their hotline operates 24 hours a day at 1-800-355-8457. Information also available in Spanish and Creole.

  • Women's Shelters Florida
    This directory allows abuse survivors to search for shelters and transitional housing by city and state. Some of the shelters listed provide accommodations for pregnant women and will help provide for newborns.
     
  • Shelter House Northwest Florida
    This is a shelter that provides counseling, housing and help for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Okaloosa and Walton County. The services they provide are free and they aim to help people regardless of race, gender identity, orientation, age or background. Their 24-hour hotline can be reached at 850-863-4777 or 1-800-44-22873.
