Presidential Signing Statements

Presidential Signing Statements are any pronouncements, issued by the President of the United States, at, or near, the time the bill is signed into law. These statements are not part of the legislative process and therefore do not have any legal effect. Signing statements are not printed with the text of the law, but are part of the Presidential Documents. Use and availability of these statements vary by administration.
