FAMU Libraries: Government Documents Collection

Government Documents

The Government Documents Department receives documents distributed by the U. S. Government Publishing Office/GPO Access service through its Federal Depository Library Program. The collection is arranged by the Superintendent of Documents classification system. The majority of the print collection is located on the shelving behind the public service desks on the 2nd and 3rd floors of Coleman Library. This shelving is publicly accessible from the doors that are located around the corner from the desks.

The Department is also responsible for a few titles from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), agricultural government agencies, and state agricultural cooperative or extension programs.

All of the collection is available for public use. Some titles may be restricted to "In library use only" depending on their format, currency, or status.
